Frederick Ndabaramiye was 15-years-old living in Rwanda, when he was dragged from a bus and attacked by Interahamwe rebels. When he refused to kill fellow passengers, the rebels hacked off Ndabaramiyeโs hands with machetes and left him for dead. He spent the next several years struggling to recover and realized that the only way forward was to move past hate and anger and embrace forgiveness.
Frederick's journey is one of forgiveness, resilience, and hope. He not only survived the atrocities of the genocide but also met the man who had perpetrated this brutal act and forgave him.
Leigh met Frederick in the Old Port selling crafts and she needed help opening her table. she asked him to help her open her table and then noticed he did it with only half arms. They developed a friendship. Later she asked Frederick what he likes about America, he responded โpizza and wine.โ She said, โme too!โ
So, in honor of their food passions, we present an evening of Hope. Pizza and Wine. (along with other food and beverages.
This will be a life-changing experience.
